Dermazoom: Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation by Dr. Laura Habib, Dermatologist

About the treatment: technical and medical information
1. What is High-Precision Micro-Focused Ultrasound (Dermazoom)?
Dermazoom is a high-precision micro-focused (HIFU) ultrasound technology that we use in medical-aesthetic treatment protocols to firm and rejuvenate the skin, providing our patients with efficacy and safety.
2. How does this treatment differ from other technologies?
- Results are visible from the first session, but continue to improve over the following 3 to 6 months as collagen regenerates.
- It is generally a painless procedure thanks to its technology, although sensitivity may vary between patients.
- It is a non-surgical alternative to other lifting treatments.
- It is perfect for patients who are afraid of or prefer to avoid needle-based treatments.
- It complements injectables and other technologies very well.
3. What clinical results can be expected (rejuvenation, firmness, lifting, etc.)?
- Firming and lifting of the face and body.
- Redefinition of facial contour and neck.
- Improvement in appearance and lifting of the brows and eyelids.
- Improvement of laxity in various facial and body areas.
- Improvement of cellulite and localized adiposity (thanks to its action on adipose tissue).
- Improvement in skin quality, including reduction of the visible appearance of pores. It gives the skin luminosity and a fresher, more rested look.
- Contours the face and noticeably enhances facial definition.
- Helps combat the “melted” appearance of the face after significant weight loss or other situations with rapid changes in facial structure and contours.
Immediate before-and-after results with just 1 session. Full improvements become even more visible within the first 3 months.
4. How many sessions are necessary and how often should they be performed?
- Number of sessions: 2 to 3 on average; depending on the degree of laxity and each patient’s specific needs.
- Frequency: The interval between sessions can be 1 to 2 months.
- Maintenance: Sessions are performed every 6–12 months to maintain results.
5. Is the procedure painful or does it require anesthesia?
It is a painless procedure thanks to its technology, but the perception of any discomfort can vary from patient to patient. The device emits a warm, controlled heat on the skin. The technique may produce some redness due to friction which subsides within minutes after the treatment.
6. How long does an average session last?
Each session lasts between 40 and 60 minutes.
7. What care should be taken before and after the treatment?
Care before Dermazoom
- Consult your physician: Follow all specific instructions given by the specialist, as they may vary from person to person.
- Avoid intense or unprotected sun exposure before the treatment to prevent irritation, burns, etc.
Care after Dermazoom
- Gentle cleansing: Use mild, soothing facial cleansers to avoid irritating the skin.
- Hydration: Keep the skin moisturized with a hydrating cream.
- Sun protection: Apply sunscreen daily to protect the skin from UV rays.
- Continue or resume your skincare routine as indicated by your specialist.
- Avoid touching or rubbing the skin repeatedly.
- Do not use products or medications that were not prescribed to you.
- Stay in contact with your physician to clarify doubts and receive specific guidance for your case.
8. How long do the results last?
The effects of the treatment are cumulative and long-lasting as sessions are performed. It is important to understand that the processes that affect the skin (in all its layers) due to the passage of time, external agents, the action of gravity, weight variations, and changes in facial structure do not stop.
9. Can it be combined with other aesthetic treatments (for example, botulinum toxin, fillers, laser, etc.)?
Dermazoom is perfectly adaptable to combinations with other rejuvenation and skin-quality treatments such as injectables and other technologies, in the order or sequence indicated by your specialist in your treatment plan, according to your goals and needs.
Indications and Benefits
1. What type of patients is micro-focused (HIFU) ultrasound indicated for (age, skin type, specific conditions)?
For patients who wish to achieve tightening (lifting) of the face and neck, either as a standalone or complementary treatment.
For patients seeking non-invasive facial rejuvenation with improvement in all skin layers without surgery, pain, or social or work downtime.
It can also be used on body areas as an adjunct in the management of localized fat (e.g., double chin), to enhance or highlight results of muscle definition, in complement to healthy lifestyle habits, optimal nutrition, and exercise.
2. What areas can we treat with this technology?
We can treat the entire face, neck, arms, and abdomen.
3. What advantages does it have over a traditional surgical facelift?
- It is painless. It does not require general, local, or topical anesthesia.
- It does not cause any downtime. You can resume your activities once your treatment session is finished.
- It is an effective and safe treatment for facial rejuvenation.
4. From what age is it recommended to start this treatment?
From 18 years old (legal age) whenever each patient has the indication.
More than age, it is the need that matters!
