- Helicobacter pylori infection in children
- Functional gastrointestinal disorders and gut-brain interaction disorders
- Gastroesophageal reflux and chronic constipation
- Pediatric nutrition, gut microbiome, probiotics, and prebiotics
- Acute diarrheal disease and cystic fibrosis
Between 1994 and 1995, she participated in pioneering research on Helicobacter pylori in children at academic centers in the United States.
From 1996 to 1999, she developed key publications in pediatric nutrition and clinical gastroenterology.
In 2003, she authored chapters in the Evidence-Based Practical Pediatrics Guidelines, covering topics such as diarrhea, gastroesophageal reflux, and constipation.
In 2009, she received the Second Place Award for Best Research in Pediatric Gastroenterology for her study on intestinal graft-versus-host disease after transplantation.
She has also contributed to national and international clinical guidelines and consensus publications and has served as a peer reviewer for the Colombian Journal of Gastroenterology since 2015.
