Porcelain veneers

What are porcelain veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin shells bonded to the front surface of the teeth to improve their shape, color, size, and appearance. They can be used to correct cosmetic concerns such as stains, worn teeth, small fractures, gaps, or irregular tooth shape.

What specialist do I need for porcelain veneers?

Porcelain veneers are mainly provided by dentists with experience in cosmetic dentistry, restorative dentistry, or smile design. Before treatment, the dentist should evaluate the health of the teeth and gums to determine whether veneers are appropriate.

When should I consult a dentist about porcelain veneers?

A consultation may be appropriate when teeth are stained, worn, chipped, small, have gaps, or have a shape you would like to improve. The dentist can determine whether porcelain veneers are suitable or whether another dental treatment would be more appropriate.
