RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PATIENTS WITH AN IRRITABLE COLON.
- All meals must have a MAXIMUM of three different foods, for example: a flour (rice or potato) a meat, which should not be stewed and a vegetable (only one without milk or butter)
- Foods NOT to eat: Milk, banana, plantain, melon, cabbage, soft drinks, spicy foods, grains (beans, dried peas, chickpeas) tray style dishes with many different foods on the same plate. li >
- You should never consume fruits or juices with meals, they can be consumed three hours before or three hours after each meal.
- You should never consume fruits in mixed salads, much less with heavy cream. The fruits should be consumed one at a time, for example, only orange.
- Vegetables should never be consumed in mixed salads, much less with sauces either with milk or butter. Vegetables should be eaten one at a time, for example only beans.
- You can consume celery water with meals to reduce gas. In general, avoid any food or group of them that you feel you do not like. This is a disease that is managed with dietary measures, if you follow the diet you improve, but if you DO NOT follow it, you will have problems again.
DIETARY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR WEATHERING (GASES) DURING MEAL
- Do not do any kind of work while eating.
- Don't talk heatedly at this time.
- Do not eat a large volume of food, eat slowly, in small bites and chewing food well.
- When eating, drink only moderate amounts of liquid, preferably water.
- Do not lie down immediately after eating, leave at least 3-4 hours apart
- Drink 4 to 6 glasses of liquids.
- Consume lactose-free or soy milk.
- Consume one flour per meal.
- Eat foods rich in fiber, granola, corn flakes, toasted rice, oat flakes, ground wheat. The recommended daily fiber requirement is 25 to 30 grams.
FOODS AND SUBSTANCES TO AVOID (BECAUSE THEY ARE PRODUCERS OF GASES)
- Baking soda in food preparation
- Chew gum
- Fat and fried
- Whole milk and its derivatives, if you have an intolerance to them
- Carbonated drinks: Sodas, soft drinks, colas and other carbonated soft drinks, beer and champagne (sparkling)
IN GENERAL, AVOID EATING OR DRINKING WHAT YOU IDENTIFY PRODUCES GASES OR GIVES YOU BAD
EXAMPLES:
Vegetables, fruits and legumes or grains: cauliflower, broccoli, lima beans, kidney beans, beans, lentils, chickpeas, dried peas. (Legumes) cabbage, big onion, cucumber, radishes, mushrooms, peaches, bananas, plums, raisins, apples, whole wheat bread, bran, peanuts, walnuts, diet foods sweetened with mannitol or sorbitol.
