Characteristics and peculiarities of male skin

Male skin differs from the female in these four physiological factors:

  • Its thickest
  • Its remarkable firmness
  • Its sebaceous production
  • The upper amount of hair follicles it has

Male skin produces greater sebaceous secretion due to a large number of androgens, male sex hormones par excellence.

For this reason, the skin is thicker, with more sebum, the fatty tissue is smaller, has more active hair follicles and is more resistant than female skin. Similarly, man has a smoother and more elastic skin but tends to age drastically and irregularly.

Man's cheeks and neck, especially when shaving, have a greater tendency to dehydration, irritation, and dryness. For this reason, it is very important to use suitable products to protect the skin.

Among the factors that negatively affect both male skins are:

  • Age
  • Fatigue
  • Stress
  • Pollution
  • Unbalanced diet
  • Health disorders
  • Sedentary lifestyle
  • Smoking
  • Drinking alcohol
