Vaginal rejuvenation procedures can be surgical or non-surgical.
Vaginal rejuvenation surgical procedures.
Surgical methods of vaginal rejuvenation are those that involve sedation or anesthesia. A gynecologic surgeon or plastic surgeon performs these procedures.
Some common surgical procedures for vaginal rejuvenation are:
- Vaginoplasty: Tightens or repairs the vaginal canal after childbirth. Sutures are placed inside the vaginal canal to reduce the diameter of the vaginal canal. It is recommended for women who suffer from urinary incontinence, bladder or rectal prolapse.
- Labiaplasty: remodeling of the labia. A minor surgery in which excess skin is removed from the inner or outer labia.
- Clitoral hood reduction: removes extra tissue covering the clitoris.
- Pubic Lift (Monsplasty): Eliminates fatty tissue from the area of ??the public bone and allows the skin to be restored.
- Vulvoplasty: reshapes the vulvar area (external genitalia).
- Perineoplasty: strengthens the perineum (space between the vagina and anus).
Non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation procedures.
Non-surgical methods of vaginal rejuvenation are non-invasive and have a short recovery time. They help tighten and tone the vaginal area without needles or surgery. Non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation involves heating the upper layers of vaginal tissue. This causes the underlying tissue to create additional collagen and new, firmer tissue.
Non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation treatments include:
- CO2 laser treatment: The laser heats the upper layers of tissue in the vagina, which causes the tissue in the lower layers to produce more collagen. This makes the skin firmer and smoother.
- RF (radio frequency) treatment: RF treatment uses electromagnetic waves, similar to the waves used in a microwave (but to a lesser extent). Radiofrequency waves heat vaginal tissue, stimulating blood flow and collagen production. RF and laser treatments are performed in an office setting. Little or no local anesthesia is used during the procedure. You can usually go about your day with no recovery time.
- Hyaluronic acid: It is a technique used to give volume to the upper labia and improve the vaginal mucosa, as well as treat vaginal dryness and increase the G-spot. The doctor injects hyaluronic acid along the vaginal canal to narrow it.
- Lipofilling: It is an intravaginal treatment to narrow the internal canal, in cases of moderate vaginal laxity. It is a minimally invasive surgery, which is done under local anesthesia, where the surgeon extracts fat from a donor area with liposuction and then injects it into the vagina. It is also a valid technique to restore the vaginal mucosa and the G-spot.
- Platelet Rich Plasma: It is a procedure used to treat vaginal dryness.
Vaginal rejuvenation is an excellent option for women who want to improve their vaginal health and appearance. It can help tighten the vagina, reduce the size of the vaginal opening, and even improve sexual function. If you are considering this type of surgery, be sure to talk to your doctor about all of your options and what is right for you.
