Help the doctor make the diagnosis

One of the most common consultations in psychiatry is what people call "nervousness" and generally refer to depression or anxiety, which are the most common pathologies in the general population.

As the treatment depends on the type of disease suffered, it is important that the patient clearly manifest the symptoms they present, which is of great help for the psychiatrist to diagnose the disease with certainty.

So let's start by defining what is depression and what is anxiety.

What is depression?

Depression is a state of sadness, apathy, lack of motivation for everything, crying or the urge to cry, pessimism, no sense of life, death wishes or suicidal ideas.

What is anxiety?

Anxiety is a state of fear, restlessness, uneasiness, you may have heart palpitations, shortness of breath, chest tightness.

These two pathologies can appear only as depression or only as anxiety and sometimes both simultaneously, which is called as MIXED ANXIOUS-DEPRESSIVE DISORDER.

The importance of diagnosis is that the treatment depends on it and is different for each of the diseases mentioned.
