Occupational medical records

What is the medical history?

The medical history is the unique set of private documents, mandatory and subject to reservation, where the health conditions of a person, medical acts and other procedures executed are recorded chronologically by the health team involved in their care. The work history and exposure to risk factors that the person has presented in their working life continue and react. It is part of the general medical history.

Taking into account the reservation of the occupational medical history, only the medical certificate (concept) is given to the company, which establishes the existing restrictions and recommendations to adapt the worker to perform his or her work.

Occupational medical history can be disclosed:

  1. By order of a judicial authority.
  2. By written authorization of the worker concerned, when it is required for strictly medical purposes.
  3. At the request of the doctor or provider of occupational health services, during the performance of any type of medical evaluation, with the prior consent of the worker, for monitoring and analysis of the occupational medical history.
  4. By entity or competent person to determine the origin or qualify the loss of work capacity, with the prior consent of the worker.
